Sports Betting Kiosks Are a Thing in Colorado, Thanks to William Hill

Last updated: October 10, 2023

Many states have begun reopening restaurants, bars, and gyms. However, people might still be reluctant to return to a casino. The worldwide pandemic has made a lot of people nervous about gathering in large numbers anywhere.

In Colorado, people don’t have to stay inside the casino for long, thanks to William Hill and Caesars Entertainment. Instead, people can place their sports bets in a kiosk, and be in and out in record time. The placement of kiosks seems all the more important with a return of baseball and basketball.

William Hill

Founded in the 1930s, William Hill made its mark in the United Kingdom through bet shops. The bet shops allowed gamblers to come in, hang out, and place sports bets. Often, William Hill’s bet shops became neighborhood gathering places. They had a homey feel that customers loved, and the clerks were often neighborhood residents themselves.

William Hill’s shops allow their players to place bets, play card games and online games, such as poker and bingo. William Hill also allows players to place bets by phone. Although William Hill began as a British company, it has expanded into the United States. In 2012, the company opened bet shops in Nevada. At the time, it was the only state where sports gambling was legal. In 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court said states could decide whether to legalize sports gambling. Since then, William Hill has continued to expand. The sportsbook is now available in 11 states.

The Company Is Betting on Kiosks

William Hill launched sports betting kiosks at the Isle Casino Hotel and the Lady Luck Casino in Black Hawk, Colo. Black Hawk is about 40 miles west of Denver in prime skiing and snowboarding country. The kiosks look like an ATM kiosk or a lottery kiosk. People can place bets at the kiosk very quickly with a cash deposit and a driver’s license. This streamlines the betting process for sports betting at the Colorado casinos. Patrons don’t have to go up to the bet shop counter. They can place their bets at the kiosk and walk out of the casino.

William Hill has dozens of kiosks in Nevada’s casinos. Right now, however, the company has a total of six kiosks in Colorado. The company has made the kiosks easy to use. New users can quickly create accounts, make cash deposits, and even take money out after a win. The kiosks focus on the Colorado market with futures and odds specific to Colorado.

William Hill is beginning with kiosks, but it is not ending with them. The company plans to further expand into the Colorado market with a mobile sports betting app. William Hill hopes to launch the app before the NFL season begins in September. While patrons are waiting for the app to get regulatory approval, they can bet on the kiosk. Like all casinos in Colorado, the company cleans the kiosks regularly for patrons. William Hill has also measured the distances in front of the new kiosks for social distancing. Whether a customer wants to play the new kiosks or wait for the app, William Hill is ready to help.
